Vodafone VoLTE Plans: In India, Airtel was the first telecom operator to offer 4G services. On the other hand, Reliance Jio was the first telecom operator to offer VoLTE in India. Since its launch in 2016, Reliance Jio was the only provider to give VoLTE services until September last year. In September, Airtel came up and began offering VoLTE services starting from the Mumbai circle. And now Vodafone is here to join the VoLTE service provider list.
Vodafone VoLTE Service
An official announcement is done now as Vodafone is all set to launch their VoLTE services in India. However, the VoLTE services will first start from 5 circles of India. The circles are Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Karnataka and Gujrat.
There have been rumours that Vodafone will join Airtel and Jio in the VoLTE service list. So this launch was a long time coming from India’s second largest telecom operator Vodafone. Airtel occupies the top spot, but Vodafone with its merger with Idea cellular plans to replace Airtel in the list soon.
Rest of India will also shortly receive Vodafone’s VoLTE services following Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, Kolkata and Karnataka. Vodafone also promises their customers high-quality voice calls along with a faster call setup time. Also exclusively for the Supernet 4G customers, Vodafone is offering free VoLTE services.
This new launch from Vodafone brings competition to Jio and Airtel for VoLTE services in India. Vodafone now has a customer baseline of 200 million customers. It is expected to have the most number of customers soon. Now as far as Idea’s customer baseline is concerned, Vodafone will provide VoLTE services to them too. Vodafone customers with the introduction of VoLTE to their network can now enjoy rich call quality with a stable data connection.
In comparison to Jio Vodafone has the upper hand after its VoLTE launch. Vodafone has the advantage of using the 3G network in case there is no 4G network. However, Jio has nothing of that sort. It has no backup network as it is an LTE-only network. So Jio also loses out the customers who are still using 3G devices. Vodafone has wider network coverage than Jio in India. So Vodafone has a chance to win over Jio in the VoLTE service provider list.
