Following other telecom operators, Aircel has also finally launched two new tariff plans in the Tamil Nadu circle. The pricing of these two plans is Rs 154 and Rs 2,018. As far as validity is concerned, Rs 154 plan is a monthly plan while the Rs 2,018 is a yearly plan. Now for benefits, both these plans offer unlimited local, STD and national calls and 100 SMS daily. However, both these plans offer different data plans.
First, let us take a look at the Rs 154 plan. The Rs 154 monthly tariff plan offers 2 GB of high-speed data for a validity of 28 days. The plan also offers unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for the same validity of 28 days.
Now let’s take a look at the Rs 2,018 yearly tariff plan. This plan is a try from Aircel to maintain its status in the telecom industry. This plan offers high speed 1 GB data per day for 365 days along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.
Mr Sankara Narayanan K, who is the Strategic Business Head of Aircel South gave a statement. It said
We have been a part of the lives of the people of Tamil Nadu for over 18 years now, and as a company, it has always been our endeavour to offer the best propositions and thereby value for the money that our customers spend. We at Aircel have rooted our offers with this as our primary focus and are committed to serving the people of Tamil Nadu with the best in class offers and propositions. I also take this opportunity to wish the people of Tamil Nadu a very happy and prosperous 2018.
However, it is essential to consider that Aircel’s outgoing calls in roaming area are limited to only the home network. Calls to networks other than Aircel in roaming is not applicable to these two plans. This is a step back from Aircel as other telecom operators are providing unlimited roaming calls to all networks. But in the home circle, customers can make unlimited voice calls to any network.
In comparison to the plans launched before, the Rs 2,018 is the best yearly plan on offer from Aircel. Additionally, in contrast to other telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Airtel and Idea cellular offering annual plans of Rs 4,999, Rs 3,999 and Rs 3,999 respectively, Aircel’s plan is cheaper and seems like a better option. However, there is no news about when these plans will be launched in other circles too.
